The Tragedy Intensifies
- Most foreign aid workers banned from Burma
- Large international aid shipments face serious delays
- Risks of cholera and other disease rise each day without clean water and sanitation
- Risks of death from diarrhea rise each day of dehydration
- The U.N. estimates at least 100,000 dead and 1.5 million is desperate need
- The rainy season begins, complicating aid efforts and magnifying need for shelter
